1. Heritage North Tours

Description

Mauritius has a diverse population, with people of Indian, African, European, and Chinese descent, giving rise to a unique fusion of cultures, beliefs and customs; which is reflected in the country’s arts, ways of living and architecture. One of the best ways to experience such unique cultural richness, the country’s history while enjoying scenic views is through our North ‘Heritage’ Tour.

You will first visit the lively Port Louis Central Market, then make a stop to explore the masterpieces among the Tamil temple of Mauritius. We will then tour the  famous Pamplemousses Botanical Garden, this historic garden is a treasure trove of plant specimens from all over the world including large collection of exotic and indigenous plants.  We will then head to Grand Baie and Cap Malheureux the romantic Notre-Dame Auxiliatrice also known as red roof church whereby you will have a magnificent  view on Gunner’s Quoin and the surrounding islands.

2. Grand South Tours

Description

The Southern Coast is said to be the most scenic part of Mauritius; with ‘Grand South Tour’ enjoy a comfortable and unique road trip through the untamed beauty of a coastline that will take you from Mauritius’ south west  to South East along one of the most beautiful roads in the world where you can soak up the spectacular volcanic rock cliffs, white-sand beaches and charming fishing villages;

The excursion’s starting point is the perfect introduction to the exceptional charm of the South: ‘Le morne’ village with Le morne mountain and ‘Ilot fourneau’ islet as background, then we will head to the famous ‘Maconde’ viewpoint at Baie du cap whereby you will be able to witness a stunning coastal panoramic view from up above a volcanic cliff : “you will most certainly feel the coastal wind so hold on to your hats!” We will continue our trip along the cost passing by St Martin fishing village, the scenic road of Bel Ombre to St Felix sandy beach; after an exceptional lunch at a local restaurant you will discover the spectacular ‘Gris Gris’’ view point and beach to contemplate and listen to the sound of soothingly satisfying waves crashing against the volcanic rocks on the shore. After a succession of bridges, drives across sugar-cane fields and villages we will finally reach ‘Blue Bay’ Beach were you will embark on a glass-bottom boat to discover an abundant marine wildlife and have a memorable snorkelling session among spectacular coralsS

3. HEART'S NATURE TOUR

Description

Start you itinerary from the heart of Mauritius by visiting the Trou aux Cerf dormant volcano, a witness to the volcanic activity present a few million years ago on the island. This crater situated on the highlands/central plateau of the island offers excellent view points of all the surrounding areas from green mountains to the blue reflections of the Indian Ocean. We will then head to the lake of Grand Bassin, considered one of the most sacred place in Mauritius where you will be able to visit the various Hindu temples and impressive statues erected around the lake. Driving through the lush forest of Black River we are to visit Alexandra Falls, next  is a photo stop at the panoramic viewpoint of Black River Gorges. We will end our journey visiting spectacular Chamarel Waterfalls and its wonderful 7 Coloured Earth.

4. TEA ROUTE TOUR

Description

Mauritius has a rich history of tea cultivation that dates back to the 18th century. The Tea Route excursion is a tailor-made tour aiming at embarking our guest on such discovery of the history of Tea cultivation in Mauritius. First we will Plunge back into time through a tour visit of a colonial house along with its tranquil and serene garden whereby you may discover its history, colonial times living and beautiful antique furniture. Driving through picturesque tea plantations we will head to ‘Bois Cheri’ tea factory and museum where you will enjoy a tea tasting experience.

Heading south to the Domaine de Saint Aubin where you will visit a rum distillery and sugar factory; At ‘La Maison de la Vanilla you will discover the process from plantation to the transformation of wonderful vanilla.

5. Authentic Village Lifestyle

Description

Embarked on a unique trip to discover the authentic village lifestyle in Mauritius by visiting one of the most historically charged and most environmentally friendly tourist spot of the island – Mahebourg.

We start our journey with the visit of Mahebourg Museum a hidden gem that offers a fascinating glimpse into the history and culture of the island; then we will visit the Mahebourg local flea market whereby you will be able to taste some of the popular local snacks and beverages and purchase your souvenirs. Then you be free to wander around the Mahebourg waterfront where you can get a great view of the bay and the magnificent Lion mountain;  After which we will visit to a 1870’s unchanged traditional Manioc Biscuit factory, of-course there is a degustation session for you to try all of their flavours accompanied by tea, coffee or cocoa.  We will end our trip at Vieux Grand Port Fort Frederik Henrik Musuem and National Heritage site (Mauritius’s first human settlement site).

6. Inner Cities - Window shopping

Description

Mauritius is also known as ‘shopping paradise’, and for good reason. The island offers a wide range of shopping places adapted to different budget and needs. All you need is some local expertise in the matter.  

We tailor made window shopping excursions that will allow you to mingle with the locals, learn new things and discover the less touristy inner cities of Mauritius: visiting authentic craft and flea markets, buying from street hawkers and or visiting popular shopping malls to find branded duty free items.

7. Local Cooking Workshop

Description

Mauritius traditional cuisine is greatly influenced by the tropical location of the island as well as the cultural diversity which characterizes the country; Effectively it a flavourful blend of European, AfricanChinese, and Indian influences in the history of Mauritius. Participate in an authentic experience to discover the traditional Mauritian cuisine.

This participative workshop is carried out at the Domaine des Aubineaux; A presentation will be made by the Chef of the domain to explain the steps of preparation.

Fines herbs freshly picked from the nursery, traditional spices, colourful and tasty ingredients will be at your disposal, visit the local market to purchase the fresh vegetables to prepare your lunch.

Concoct your dish and set your table for a moment of pure bliss in the stables of the Domaine surrounded by its tropical garden.

After lunch, a visit of the colonial house and rum tasting is included.
